Gas Fueled Ships Conference – Exhibiting
November 16, 2016 - November 18, 2016
The 6th Gas Fuelled Ships Conference addressed the use of LNG as a maritime fuel, comparing it with other up and coming low flash point fuel options including Ethanol and Methanol and other alternatives for ECA compliance. Presentations on fuel availability, cost, design implications, supply infrastructure, technology and operator feedback plus roundtable discussions formed part of the two day programme ensuring that information and knowledge sharing was at a maximum. The operator panel on ECA implementation and compliance provided attendees with a valuable insight into how major operators such as Hapag Lloyd, Maersk Maritime Technology, Stena and Carnival Corporation are addressing the next deadline in 2020. Day three included technical visits to the methanol fuelled Stena Germanica ferry and the Becker Marine/AIDA Cruises’ LNG hybrid barge.
